Lambs

Lambs for 2009 season
(Click on photo to see enlarged view)

CVM color patterns vary widely, especially in the darkness of the body wool.  Some of our lambs have gotten darker with age and others have gotten lighter.  This year we used a medium brown ram on a CVM badger face ewe and got a white lamb, and a medium brown ram on a dark brown ewe and got another white lamb.  The rest of our lambs for this year were CVM badger face or medium to dark brown.  Colors are almost impossible to predict.  Fiber diameter and staple length have a much greater heritability factor.  We select our breeding animals to produce soft wool with exceptional spinning qualities.   Choose your lambs (Please use the row/column designation as lambs may be confused) and give us a call 574-299-1225, or e-mail at sales@aarandalefibers.com or fax at 574-299-7429.  For more information visit the CVM conservancy web site.
