Welcome

Aarandale fiber farm was established in 1988.  Since then we have been raising sheep for fiber and meat.  We began with the Shropshire breed and then moved to Corriedale/North country Cheviot crosses.  We were looking for a wool breed that would give us a variety of fiber color, medium to fine diameter fiber, good crimp, medium staple length, and excellent spinning characteristics.   In 2001 we learned of the CVM/Romeldale breed.  This was what we were looking for.  Their fiber color is excellent, and changes from year to year.  (We haven’t figured out why, some animals get darker and others get lighter as they age). We presently have adult ewes and rams light to dark brown and light to dark grey.  Shearing day is always a great experience!  The CVM breed has very nice soft wool and to protect it we have been covering our animals.  We now supply fiber covers for polled and horned sheep and goats and for large and small camelids.  We usually have animals for sale along with raw fleece and roving.  Click on a link for current information or give us a call.
